LaGrange Petit Manseng 2024 - Absolutely Spectacular

The Winery at LaGrange was founded in 2005 by Virginia wine pioneer Chris Pearmund and a local group of wine enthusiasts, They purchased the historic 1790 plantation farm and fully renovated the property. The winery officially opened to the public in 2006, the very first commercial winery in Prince William County. The original investors sold the property in 2012 to Beida Jade Bird. This marked the first major Chinese investment foothold in the Virginia wine market. While the Chinese firm maintains ownership, daily wine production and operations remain locally managed. Seth Chambers has served as the head winemaker since 2014, crafted with a dedicated local staff.

In 2004, while studying physics at Penn State University, Seth took a summer internship at a Virginia winery. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry from Penn State in 2007.To solidify his technical expertise, Chambers went on to earn an Enology Certificate from Washington State University in 2011. Seth spent five years as the winemaker for Naked Mountain Winery in Markham, Virginia before joining LaGrange.

The Winery at La Grange Petit Manseng 2024 sis hand picked and whole cluster pressed. Aged in used, neutral French oak. The wine starts off with peach, apricot, and lemon/citrus on the nose along with honeysuckle. Super fragrant. A lovely long lemony cream custard finish, with flavor that linger for quite a while. Terrific acidity. Absolutely spectacular.
