Return Brewing in Hudson and Catskill, New York, is doing some amazing things these days. Return Brewing was founded by Mikey Lenane, JD Linderman, Jack Liakas, and Robert Wise. They are making a wide range of beers, and also doing contract brewing. They are a mad machine.
JD Linderman is the head brewer at Return Brewing. He is one of the four co-founders. With more than two decades of experience at Sixpoint Brewery in Brooklyn, he makes as standard long list of tasty drafts. However, he does do something incredibly - well, artistic. This is one of those moments.
Return Brewing Secret Spot is a co-ferment, part of a foraging within their new farmhouse ale collaboration with Luloo and @theedgeofwildfarm. Secret Spot is made from foraged wineberries, a delicious ornamental (and invasive!) raspberry, combined with Return's kveik yeast to create something spritzy, fruity, and delicious.
And THAT it is!! A bright, effervescent elixir. Bright, fresh, with lip-smacking zippy acidity. The flavor lingers and lingers in this dry rose' spritzer of a beer. Absolutely delicious!
