STUNNING - BACHELDER LES VILLAGES GAMAY NOIR 2021

I have been and always will be a huge devotee' of Thomas Bachelder, one of the best producers of Pinot Noir the world over. He's made wine in the US, France, and Canada during his illustrious career. He first studied wine at a winemaking school in Beaune, France. He is a man of the world, but his label is pure Canadian, as he was born and raised in Montreal. His tasting room is just outside of Beamsville, in the Niagara Peninsula region.

This particular wine, the Bachelder Les Villages Gamay Noir is absolutely stunning. This is one of five Bachelder Gamay Noirs he produces from his label. The others include Wismer-Foxcroft (52% whole cluster), Wismer-Foxcroft (22% whole cluster), Bar Xu, and Willms' 'les Naturalites'.

This is a blend of five small lots. Beutiful notes of cherry, mixed berries and even cherries come right through. There are just enough acidity and tannins to give the wine a proper back bone. And the flavor lingers on the palate for a full minute. The test of any great wine.

Absolutely stunning.
