Amoritas Vineyard Hail Mary Riesling 2016 (MI)

Amoritas Vineyards was founded by Michael, Emily, and Matthew Doodell during the harvest of 2015. The Goodell’s planted six white wine varietals on 14 acres of the homestead they purchased on the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula. Their mission was to create delicious food-friendly wines from high-quality Vinifera vines.

Last fall I gave a shout out to these fine folks, but I thought they deserved better than that. Because the wine was indeed wonderful. The Amoritas Vineyard Hail Mary Riesling 2016 started off with a flower attack, filled with green apple, tropical fruits, and honeysuckle, with hints of lovely petroleum notes. There was a nice sweetness, and great zippy finish. Very very impressive.

Great job. Lovely wine!
