Graft Field Rose Cider - A Quaffable, Elegant Co-Ferment of Apples and Grapes!

Graft Cider is owned and founded by siblings Kyle Sherrer and Sara Sherrer (along with co-founder and creative director Sae Kenney/Sherrer), with key team members like Amber Burton also holding ownership stakes. Located in Newburgh, in the Hudson Valley, Graft specializes in sour, dry-fermented hard ciders inspired by old-world traditions and modern craft brewing. Operates alongside sister brands like Hudson North Cider Co. and Flora under Backpack Brands. They were founded and opened in 2016.

What is a co-ferment? "A co-ferment wine involving apples is a hybrid alcoholic beverage made by fermenting fresh apple juice or whole apples together with wine grapes (or other fruits) in the same tank at the same time," says Cider Culture.

"Unlike traditional blending—where finished cider and finished wine are mixed together after fermentation—co-fermentation allows the yeasts to interact with all the fruit sugars and skins simultaneously. This creates a deep integration of flavors, unique textures, and complex aromas that bridge the gap between traditional wine and hard," reports Courtney Schiessl Magrini in Seven-Fifty.com.

"Grape skins add structural tannins, deeper color, and rich secondary notes (like red fruit or minerality), while apples provide crisp, refreshing natural acidity," writes Alexander Peartree in The Full Pour.com.

Graft Field Rose Dry Rose Blend is a wild-fermented, wine-inspired dry rosé cider with a 6.0% ABV. Crafted in the Hudson Valley, it evolved from Graft's older "Field Day" style into this refined cider-wine co-feremt. Dry rosé cider blending modern cider-making with a natural wine soul. This cider has a base blend of New York, high-tannin French cider apples blended with California Syrah and Zinfandel grapes. It is then aged on a field blend of Finger Lakes wine grape skins.

Graft Field Rose' proffers big notes of bright cherry, bright raspberry, and bright plum. Also a light note of fresh cut green apple. There's also a wonderful citrus pop standing behind all of it, giving it zip and pushing those flavors forward. It's earthy, chewy, and refreshing. A perfect food compliment, a great accompaniment to a cheese plate, or a great back porch or trail sipper. Fun enough to be a quaffable cider, elegant enough to pair with a magical dinner. A fantastic cider.
