Family owned and operated, Lakewood Vineyards has been an active part of the Finger Lakes wine community since opening in 1989. It is located on the west side of Seneca Lake, just north of Watkins Glen. The Stamp family moved to Lakewood Farm in 1951, and began planting vines the next year. Now, many years later, the Stamps utilize their grapes, as well as grapes from other Finger Lakes growers, and produce about 42,000 cases of wine annually.
Chris Stamp (far right), grandson of the farm’s founders, has been making the wines for each of the winery’s 34 vintages. David Stamp, another grandson, oversees the grape growing. The 100 acres of vineyards currently consists of 15 varieties.
Lakewood Cabernet Franc Dry Rose' 2024 is a wonderful rose experience. Made from 54% Glenora Farms. 31% Wagner Vineyards, and 15% Lakewood Farm, the wine exhibits big notes of fresh cut green apple, and fresh cut strawberries. There's also the aroma of white flowers and ripe raspberries as well. It finishes with lovely acidity and a slight white pepper tannin. Strong aromas of Key Lime finish this absolutely delicious wine!
Great job to the winemaking team at Lakewood!
