Neverstill Rose' 2025 - Summer on the Hudson

In 2014, Christy Counts and her husband Ben Morton relocated to Bedford, New York, and began exploring the Finger Lakes Wine Region. In 2020, Christy educated herself in wine, achieving advanced certification through the Wine Spirit & Education Trust (WSET).

By 2022, Christy and Ben found themselves spending more time in Hudson, New York, attracted by its vibrant art, antiques, and culinary scene. She decided it was the perfect place for the tasting room. The grapes are sourced from Neverstill's vineyard in the Finger Lakes. Today, Craig Hosbach of Fox Run is making the wines for Neverstill. But Christy is absolutely the Neverstill brand, embodied. And lucky for Neverstill.

The Neverstill Rose' of Cabernet Franc 2025 is made from grapes sourced from Lahoma Vineyards on the southwest side of Seneca Lake. The site sits at a high elevation above the shale line on the western side of the lake, known for producing unique wines.

According to the winemaker's notes, "The grapes were direct pressed upon arrival at the winery with no skin contact to preserve a pale hue and delicate structure. Fermentation took place in stainless steel at cool temperatures using Vin 13 yeast, emphasizing aromatic lift and purity of fruit. The wine was aged in stainless steel, then racked and filtered before bottling in early 2026."

The Neverstill Rose' of Cabernet Franc 2025 leads of with bright Bing cherries, fresh cut strawberries, cream, and lime. It doesn;t get any better than that. There are also notes of orange blossom and tangerine, as well as wet slate and lovely lime and lemon zest. A delightful, fun wine, with terrific fruit, a hint of funk, and a lot of flavor. Perfect for summer afternoons, salads, and light dishes, even good enough to stand up to chicken and pork. Like sunlight shimmering on the river. Summer is here on the Hudson. A lovely wine.
