Maryland Shimmers in Crow Vineyard Sparkling Vidal Blanc

Crow Vineyard & Winery is located on a working farm this is also home to a Grass-fed Black Angus cattle operation and a fam stay B&B. They are just minutes North of Chestertown and South of Chesapeake City on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, close to Middletown, Delaware. It is owned and operated by Judy and Roy Crow, along with their son, Brandon Hoy. Michael Zollo is the winemaker. I have had the opportunity to taste their wines in the past, and most recently at the Maryland Governor's Cup event in March in Frederick earlier this year.

The Crow Vineyard Sparkling Vidal Blanc is a non-vintage 100% estate Vidal Blanc sparkler made in the traditional Méthode Champenoise style. The nose is chock-a-block with orange blossom, tangerine, honeysuckle, green melon, and tropical fruit. On the palate there's green apple, pineapple, peach, pear, and a lovely grapefruit finish. And the fruit lingers for ever. A terrific sparkler and a great buy!
