Batson River Brewing & Distilling has dining and tasting rooms in Kennebunk (their flagship location), Portland, and Biddeford. Founded in 2018, this small-batched spirits producer and craft beer brewery is something to experience. On the menus, everything from the food, cocktails, and beers are inspired by the season. Beautiful New England settings inspire as well.
I recently went to their tasting room with Rich Srsich and a met up with the old New England Research Team, for a little get together. We agreed to meet at the Biddford location. The Batson River tasting room in the basement of the Lincoln Hotel. It was absolutely spectacular. Rich, elegant, sophisticated, but with touches of New England that immediately hit home. Such an opulent space.

Langsford Road Bourbon (44% ABV, 88 Proof) is named for one of Kennebunkport's oldest and most scenic roads, and has been in existence since 1620. It is a straight bourbon aged over two years in American oak barrels. Langsford Road is proofed with Tourmaline Spring Water from Summit Spring, a free-flowing gravity fed untreated spring. Pure water, filtered by nature and time. They blend select batches of wheated and rye bourbons to capture the full-bodied smooth finish. The sweetness of the corn,, the vanilla and toffee of wheat, and the spiciness of rye combine to make a delicious whiskey. Butterscotch, caramel, toffee, and vanilla notes with lovely Christmas spices, makes this a great sipping whiskey or perfect for cocktails. It's a damn solid dram of bourbon. It's got Southern Charm, but it's from Vermont! Try it!
