The other night I was teaching a Martini class, and I needed a bottle of vodka, and I remembered I had this bottle I'd acquired some time ago. Fiore's Maryland Blue Crab Vodka is distilled from select grain and then very slowly filtered using only gravity to flow the spirit through their specially designed carbon filter. The vodka is itself is crisp and clean, and very, very smooth with a great finish.
The vodka is made by Fiore Winery and Distillery located in Pylesville, Maryland. It's owned by Mike and Rose Fiore. And the distiller is Tony Fiore was the first to commercially make a 100% Maryland Rye since pre-Prohibition. This Blue Crab vodka is a versatile spirit, perfect for a great martini, a Bloody Mary, a Cosmo, and many others. Terrific.
Anyway, I used this vodka to make a vodka Martini for my class. Everybody was getting the James Bond vibe. It was exquisite. Stood up to the ice, shaken not stirred, and the cocktail was a big hit. And of course, I was thinking, wouldn't be great to have some crabcakes and some Blue Claws, and a couple of ice cold shots of vodka to accompany them?
Great job to the Fiores! Celebrate summer with Fiore Maryland Blue Crab Vodka, and get into the spirit of things!
