Lovely Clermont Vineyards Riesling 2016 (NY)

Tony Trigo is the owner of Clermont Vineyards along with his wife Louise. They are the most lovely people. Tony is a cantankerous genius. And a hellava nice guy. Louise is his lovely, lovely helpmate.

Tony's tastingroom is one of the biggest and best in the mid-Hudson Valley.

Tony's wines are all estate. He has a very large vineyard and an almost equally large deck to view it from. Simply gorgeous.

A couple of months ago, Tony left a present for me....a bottle of Clermont Vineyards Riesling 2016. The wine was exceptional. It had lots of tropical fruit on the nose, complete with honey, apricots, mango, and pineapple. But it tasted of green apple, and pineapple, and had lovely citrusy notes. A beautiful finish. A lovely, lovely Hudson River Region Riesling.
