Tapping the Hudson Valley by Debbie Gioquindo

Debbie Gioquindo is a friend. And she has done a lot for the Hudson Valley. She has her blog, The Hudson Valley Wine Goddess. She also writes for Hudson Valley Wine magazine! She has her own wine which has been written about in the New York Times, Happy Bitch wines. And most importantly, truly, is that she has organized the Hudson Valley Wine Competition for many years, a thankless job, for which she deserves our ever lasting and undying gratitude!! In short, though she has man other interests, she has been a big booster for Hudson Valley wine!

Debbie has written a new book, a hedonist's guide entitled TAPPING THE HUDSON VALLEY Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries, and Cideries published by Million Dollar Sips. It is a lovely, fun, and extensive drinker's guide to the Hudson Valley filled with everything you need to know to make some serious drinking excursions.

Now, all winks aside, the Hudson Valley is the most diverse region in America right now, boasting more than 40 wineries, more than 30 breweries, more than a dozen and half distilleries, and more than a dozen cideries. In the last 10 years, the Hudson Valley has seen an explosion of craft beverage businesses. It is nwoone of the hottest regions on the East Coast! No region out there even comes close to that kind of diversity. And Debbie celebrates it all!

The book is broken up into little, easily accomplish-able day trips for wine, beer, spirits, and cider enthusiasts. She's also noted top restaurants, brewpubs, and B&Bs along the way! Each section has four entry points into the region; New York State Thruway interchange at Harriman, Interstate 84 exit off the New York State Thruway, Millbrook Route 44 exit off the Taconic State Parkway and the New York State Thruway at Albany. In addition, Debbie also has calculated the time it should take to get from point to point and provides directions should your electronics fail.

It is a very thorough guide to driving through the region, and certainly one the region deserves!!!!

It's 256 pages, with not a a space to spare that isn't filled with tips, directions, and imbibing suggestions at every stop!

It's a terrific book, and a very, very valuable addition to the Hudson Valley craft beverage scene!

It's a big and diverse valley, and you couldn't find a better guide!!!! Buy a copy ASAP!!! And start tasting!
