There are so many wine competitions these days, even as a winemaker or an industry follower, its often hard to discern which is more or meaningful than others. More and more I believe the ASWA Competition, which pits wines from up and down the east coast is becoming more and more meaningful. It gives us a chance to see what from one end of the eastern wine hemisphere to another. I find value in some of the regional shows, don't get me wrong. but for the big shows, I think this one, in which winners will range from New England to the South, shows the scope and breadth of what is happening on the east coast! Great results, with some absolute winners!
