Red Newt Cabernet Franc

Red Newt is one of my favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes, and David Whiitng is one of the nicer winemakers in the region. Though he is less visible in the tasting room than he was in the beginning, his presence in the wines has never been more apparent.

The 2007 Cabernet Franc Glacier Ridge Vineyards is a classy, smooth, big dark fruit wine with supple tannins and a silky smooth finish. A fabulous wine!!! I loved it!

Defintely one of the very nice reds of the region.

(Also, side note, love thier Sauvignon Blanc...wow...citrusy and dry and minerally. Made me instantly think of wanting raw see food or a salad...begged for a nice light cheese or some fresh fish).
